This We Believe: Doctrinal Statement

Pastor Andrew Guya &
Doreen N. Mayaka

The Grace Tabernacle (ICCM Church)

Surrounded by a multicultural African society, we captured the deep seated need for the savior for our people. Though our nation Kenya is pre-dominantly Christian, the nation is still in dire need for grounding in the divine Biblical principles. There is a serious confusion between religion and a relationship with Jesus Christ. This prompted us to not only reach out to the people but to raise with the help of God, a Bible based, a Bible believing/practicing church. We believe in winning souls and making disciples through our practical walk with the Lord Jesus. We reach out to people through open air meetings which take place right in the heart of our communities. We also practice door to door ministry and arrange for crusades. At Grace Tabernacle we believe that everyone is a leader. Therefore we equip, train, mentor and send people to start ministries as the Lord leads. We also follow them up and continue to encourage and advice where called to. We have specific programs for kids and during school holidays we engage then in a three days Vacation Bible School where they are taught the word of God, have fun and fed with snacks. As a church we believe that we are the family of Christ and therefore strive to reach to one another’s needs where we can.

Pastor Susan Morgan

Crosspoint Church

Began her adventure in ministry in 1996 as a volunteer mentor to pregnant and parenting teens with Youth for Christ. Through faithful obedience and the desire to fulfill needs with God inspired vision, Susan has served in several levels of ministry for a faith based community ministry and is now the pastor of an exciting ministry that was founded by Pastor Barry Case in 2002. Crosspoint Church is located in a community of Battle Creek that comes with many needs, most specific, children and youth. Susan has a vision for dynamic children’s and youth ministry that will meet the needs of the community in both a spiritual and physical manner. The vision reaches into the households of the children and youth; bringing transformation to individuals for the glory of God. Most recently Crosspoint has been gifted with a tremendous blessing – a vacant elementary school building located right in the center of their mission field. This property will be a gift to the Body of Christ and become a true Center of Ministry for Greater Battle Creek and beyond. The vision encompasses simple plans that will unite the Body of Christ, perpetuate and hasten efforts of service evangelism, and purposefully equip the saints for the work the Lord is calling them to. These are exciting times to serve the Lord!

Danielle Padilla

A 27 year old singer/songwriter who wishes to bring praise unto the name of the Lord through song just like that of King David. One of her deepest heart cries is to bring healing through song, to the lost, the oppressed, the broken and down trotted. She is also a single mother of two precious young boys whose love for the Lord goes beyond what any words can express. Her passion is for the lost. She desperately seeks to unveil the truth of Gods word to those in need. This woman of God is kingdom minded and has a heart of flesh that is driven to see souls brought to Christ. She realizes that the body of Christ cannot operate under the authority of our own influence but only through the mighty hand of God. She seeks to do the will of her father and will stop at nothing to please him. -But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added onto you.

John Shoemaker

Outlook Christian Center

John Shoemaker is best defined not by accomplishments, positions or titles, but by his passionate desire to intimately know God and to experience and more fully live in His manifest presence. The foundational calling on his life is be a spiritual father, helping sons and daughters to move toward their destiny in God, and providing encouragement and support to them in raising up their own spiritual sons and daughters. He and his wife Barbara both went through painful divorces and were single parents of three children each for many years. They were married in 1996 and now have 11 grandchildren.

John took an early retirement from Eastman Kodak Company in early 203, after being asked to join the pastoral staff of Bethel Christian Fellowship, a large urban Rochester church. He spend about one-third of his 30+ year Kodak career in technical assignments and the remainder in various manufacturing management or other leadership positions. Over those years he also assumed a variety of ministry leadership roles, both inside and outside his church. In his 5 years at Bethel, he gave oversight to the finance and administrative functions, as well as to a number of pastors and ministries, and led Bethel’s strategic planning processes. During his last tow years he was also the executive director of a Christian community development corporation focused on bringing economic, social and spiritual transformation to urban Rochester.

At the end of 2008 John and his wife Barbara planted Outlook Christian Center, which is called to advance the kingdom of God in the greater Rochester area by helping people identify and pursue their callings and God-given dreams. The church is also called, both corporately and individually, to be a unifying influence in Rochester by helping other churches, ministries and businesses achieve their missions, visions and God-given dreams.

As you look at that stone, know this, you're the rock that God is using to make a difference.
